Dr. Martens launches new global brand platform 'With Bouncing Soles'
British footwear brand Dr. Martens has announced further developments as part of its consumer-first strategy, including the launch of a new global brand platform titled 'With Bouncing Soles'. The initiative debuts alongside a refreshed e-commerce experience and the ongoing execution of the physical retail strategy outlined during the company's full year 2026 financial results in May 2026.
The brand platform is built around the phrase stitched onto Dr. Martens heel loops since 1960. Drawing on product craftsmanship, historical archives and long-standing cultural connections, the platform aims to create a more contemporary and globally consistent visual identity across channels.
E-commerce platform launches across major markets
The launch of the new global e-commerce experience serves as one of the first consumer-facing elements of the updated identity. Developed as an end-to-end destination, the digital platform integrates editorial storytelling and product history directly into the shopping journey.
The updated e-commerce site is currently live across the US and major European markets. Dr. Martens plans to roll out the updated platform to additional international markets in the coming months.
Execution of four-tier store strategy continues
Parallel to its digital updates, Dr. Martens is continuing the rollout of its physical retail strategy, transitioning locations from purely transactional spaces into experiential brand destinations. This follows the opening of its first Beacon store on Brewer Street in London and a Brand Centre in Dosan Park, Seoul.
This autumn, the footwear company will redesign and relaunch Brand Centre locations in Le Marais, Paris; Sendlinger Street, Munich; Herald Square, New York City; and Century City, Los Angeles.
The locations reflect the company’s four-tier retail model, with each store format serving a distinct operational role. Beacon stores are designed as immersive brand destinations that showcase the company’s heritage, culture and creative concepts. Brand centres offer customers the full product portfolio, complemented by brand expertise. Brand stores are standard retail locations focused on convenient access to the company’s core product ranges, while outlets are value-focused locations designed to provide customers with more accessible entry points to the brand.
The ongoing store updates form part of the broader framework to support long-term growth and increase direct consumer engagement across global markets.
